Friday Poll: Microsoft's new ad campaign
September 12, 2008 | Posted by: Marty
Much has been made about Microsoft's latest rebuttal towards Apple's snarky but effective Get a Mac campaign. If you haven't seen Microsoft's new ads - take a look, there are two out now: Shoe Circus and New Family.
Most believe Microsoft is totally missing the mark with the focus of these ads. I, on the other hand, think they are witty, funny, and in the end, totally memorable. Will they sell Windows? No. Will they change people's perception of Microsoft? Possibly. These are ads that sell nothing, which is kinda refreshing. (Yeah, yeah, what is an ad that doesn't sell anything? A failure! That's what's wrong with this campaign!) I think there is something to the humor and humility with the message they are trying to get across here. What do you think?

Gold in there! I laughed the most at the pregnant pauses in Shoe circus, would have been perfect for me if it ended after the first half.

Nice. At least I’m not the only one.
They like it too!

I am still waiting for a couple more making a final call. Though I will say I have stopped to watch them.
Hopefully it is building up to something a bit more entertaining.
